Few of the new initiatives taken up by Saksham India Trust (SIT) in the year 2010 for organizing marketing
- Goat based livelihood training was organized by Saksham India Trust. This was a four days training program for Senior and Middle level NGO functionaries responsible for planning and coordinating their projects.
- Initiated the process of organizing producer groups products in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for marketing of rural products
- Promoted “Ethnic Earth”, a brand that would market rural handloom and handicraft products produced by artisan group members of networking partners
- Started processing and advocating for obtaining Fair Trade Forum- India (FTF-I) Membership (Membership with FTF-I will enable SIT to market Fair Trade Products by organizing exhibitions and direct selling).
- A though process for identifying avenues to low cost social tourism “Tourism with a difference” under fair trade is also under way.
